Yes, Orientation is an important step in your experience as a student at UMFK. You will have the opportunity to schedule your classes and meet other new and current students.
You are encouraged to bring a notepad, pen, and any questions you have about UMFK. You will be outside at times, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
Students moving into residence halls can find a full list of items they should bring (and what should be left home) here.
On campus housing will only be available for residential students during fall orientation. Off campus lodging is available for families during orientation at local establishments.

Check in for those moving into the Residence Halls and for the Orientation Program will be held in the Bengal’s Lair in Cyr Hall. There will be signs on campus to direct you to this location.
You are welcome to bring guests to Orientation. Guests will be responsible for the cost of their meals if they are interested in attending breakfast or lunch with you. Due to the large number of students in the residence halls we will not be able to accommodate housing for guests. For further questions about guests please contact Vicki Daigle at vicki.daigle1@maine.edu.
Members of the faculty and staff will also be there to meet with you to be successful as you pursue your degree.
If questions arise or you require more information, please contact Vicki Daigle at vicki.daigle1@maine.edu.
