The University of Maine at Fort Kent has been selected as a national College of Distinction for the 2014 - 2015 academic year. UMFK is one of a select group of 200 colleges in the country to earn this prestigious designation based on its educational excellence in each of Four Distinctions: engaged students, great teaching, vibrant campus community, and successful outcomes.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent Blake Library will host "Acadian Literary Creations" on Monday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 12 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. The event is open to the public.

The University of Maine at Fort Kent's Summer Theatre will perform Moliere's “The Learned Ladies” at the Fox Auditorium on the UMFK campus from Thursday, July 31, 2014 through Sunday, August 3, 2014. Performances will be at 7 p.m. on July 31, August 1, and August 2. A matinee performance will be offered at 2 p.m. on August 3.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent has been awarded a $132,500 grant by the Davis Educational Foundation for the 2014-2017 academic years. The support will allow the organization to expand and further develop the Rural U Early College and Dual Enrollment program.
