The University of Maine at Fort Kent inducted four new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2015 at a memorable ceremony and dinner held on Saturday, March 21 on the UMFK campus.
With the promise of renewal in the air as winter loses its grip on the St. John Valley, the University of Maine at Fort Kent Student Nurses Organization (SNO) announced it will host a community health fair, “Spring into Health,” on Friday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the UMFK Sports Center.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent announced on March 24 it has formed a new advisory council for its behavioral and social science programs in order to enhance the connections between the university and organizations in the region that provide health services.

The University of Maine at Fort Kent Blake Library Gallery will feature, “Drawing is a Language,” the work of students in Therese Provenzano's Art 351 Drawing class. The exhibition will be on display through Thursday, April 10.
When an event celebrates the first signs of spring with Acadian music, traditional local foods, live entertainment and the unique experience of eating maple taffy that has hardened on the snow, it must be the Sucrerie. As the sap begins to run in the maple trees, the University of Maine at Fort Kent will host its annual celebration of the start of the maple season on Thursday, March 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nowland Hall.
In what many people see as the classiest sign of spring and the best destination to bring a date in the state of Maine, the University of Maine at Fort Kent Foundation will present its tenth annual dinner/performance fundraising event on Saturday, April 11, 2015 beginning at 5 p.m. With a musical celebration of local Acadian roots that is certain to pull concert goers out of their seats to dance in the aisles, the Boogaloo Swamis, a Cajun band, will provide this year's entertainment.
The St. John Valley Senior College program will hold an open house to Kick-Off their Spring 2015 course line up on Friday, March 20, at 4:00 pm at the Fort Kent Senior Center.
The University of Maine at Fort Kent Blake Library will host an exhibit of art, “Eclectic Collection of UMFK,” that university faculty and staff created. The work will be on display through the month of March.
Dr. Robert Dixon, vice president for academic affairs at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, has announced that 448 students were named to the Dean's List for the fall 2014 semester.
Students attaining the honor must be degree candidates, enrolled as a full-time student or a part-time student, and must maintain a 3.20 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the semester with no grades below a “C.”
