Various Standardized Tests are available to students at UMFK. Credit for courses may be earned. Before proceeding to pay the fee and take the test, be sure to complete practice problems to be sure this is a good match for your learning needs. Talk with your advisor about all your options to show evidence of your knowledge of the course material.
Military credits are reviewed by the Transfer Officer based on the recommendations of the American Council of Education (ACE) and awarded when applicable.
Credit may be reviewed/awarded for external training, credentials and/or certificates through Prior Learning Assessment.
Credit may be reviewed and awarded for experiential learning outside the University and is available to students who believe that they can meet the learning outcomes required of a specific course. Students must complete a PLA Portfolio and submit this document to the instructing faculty and/or Division Chair for review. The portfolio must address the course expectations and student learning outcomes as listed on the course syllabus. This portfolio provides the objective evidence of previously acquired knowledge and skills that meet the course outcomes.
The decision to accept the documentation provided is based on the determination of the equivalency of your prior knowledge and skills to the specific course learning outcomes.
For further information on the PLA options offered at UMFK please contact Tammy Delisle, Career Planning and Internship Coordinator at 834-8647 or firstname.lastname@example.org or discuss options with your Academic Advisor.
