 June 8: The Newest Members of the UMFK Learning Community

Even as we catch our breath after the close of the academic year, it's already time to welcome the newest members of our UMFK learning community as they come on board and begin preparing for the open of our Fall Semester 2021.

Let's meet them and give them a big Bengal Hello!

Dakota Koch, BSN

Dakota Koch has been hired as a Lecturer of Nursing at UMPI on a one-year fixed length appointment. Dakota received her BSN in Nursing from Colorado Technical University in Colorado Springs, CO. and an Associates in Nursing from Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle. She has been a nurse for almost six years in various ICU settings and has had several leadership and education roles within the unit. Recently, she started working as a clinical instructor as an adjunct for UMFK at the UMPI campus.

Dr. Theresa McBride, Ph.D.

Dr. Theresa McBride has been hired as an Assistant Professor of Business. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of St. Andrews School of Management in St. Andrews, Scotland (UK), a Master of Business Administration from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been self-employed as a management consultant, owned and operated three 7-Eleven franchises, and worked for Wells Fargo Bank as a collateral risk manager.

Kelly White, Ed.D., will be starting this fall as an Instructor of Computer Science on a full time one-year, fixed length appointment. Kelly received his Ph.D. in Computing Technology in Education from Nova Southeastern University, a Masters in Educational Technology from the University of Phoenix. a Bachelors in Photography from Arizona State University and an Associates degree from Community College of Vermont.  He has nineteen years of higher education leadership and teaching experience from the Community College of Vermont where he also served as Coordinator of Academic Services. He was the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas and is currently employed as a Teacher for the Maine Academic Supervisory District #1 in Presque Isle.

Please look for Dakota, Theresa, and Kelly on campus this fall and introduce yourself!
