Please indicate on your graduation application if you plan to participate in the Commencement Ceremony on May 8, 2021 at 10:00 am. Participation includes attending rehearsal on May 7, 2021 at 11:00 am. Further details on commencement will be provided at a later date.
The commencement program will include names of degree recipients from Summer 2020, Fall 2020 and degree candidates for Spring 2021. It is not an official list of graduates. Programs will be distributed at Commencement.
Your name will be listed on the Commencement Program as you indicated your name to appear on your Diplomas. Diploma Covers will be handed out during the Commencement Ceremonies without Diplomas. It is University policy that diplomas cannot be released until your award has been conferred which occurs on May 8, 2021. Therefore, we are not able to provide your diploma earlier.
Diplomas will be available for pickup or mailed approximately three weeks after graduation.
**Note: Diplomas are only released to graduates who have no holds on their accounts with UMFK.
Students who maintain a high level of academic achievement during the undergraduate careers are graduated with honors. Students whose total cumulative grade point averages on all work taken (including work taken at the University of Maine at Fort Kent and elsewhere) are:
Coursework taken during the semester of graduation will not be used in the calculation of honors.
Any questions regarding a student's academic standing and qualifications for university honors should be directed to the Registrar's Office.
Only degree candidates who are graduating with honors will wear Honor Cords with their academic regalia. Honor Cords will be inserted in the academic regalia packet.
Guests are welcome to take pictures, however, you should know that a commercial photographer, Lifetouch, Inc., will take pictures of all degree candidates as they cross the stage. We recommend that you sit where you will be most comfortable and leave the crucial shot to the pros! They offer graduates the opportunity to have quality portraits taken with absolutely no obligation to purchase. Information is mailed to the home of the student prior to graduation. This allows for graduates to order before or after graduation.
