Our Biology program provides students with lots of flexibility to choose elective courses that reflect their individual interests and career paths. Students can choose from two options: a major in biology with a minor in a field outside of biology; or a major in biology with a concentration in a specific area of biological science.
All students in the Biology Major will participate in a Field Experience Program as part of their coursework. This program consists of experiential learning activities that students participate in through short field trips in the local area, as well as through multi-day expeditions to destinations across the U.S.
The biomedical sciences program is designed for working professionals, recent graduates, or career changers interested in careers in healthcare, research, and the biotech industry. This program allows you to develop your existing academic record by completing pre-medical courses and apply to a medical, dental, osteopathic, veterinary, physician assistant, nursing, physical therapy, or other science programs.
Ecology studies the distribution and abundance of organisms, the interactions between organisms, and the interactions between organisms and the physical environment. Conservation biology is an applied science based on ecological principles focusing on conserving biological diversity and the restoration of degraded ecosystems.
