Behavioral and Social Sciences

The Behavioral and Social Sciences Programs at the University of Maine at Fort Kent supply the learner with knowledge of both the variations and the similarities of all humanity. They are the foundation for studies of ethnic, gender, cognitive, emotional, age, and social diversity, and especially for human services, social studies education, pre-law, and the civil service. This foundation of understanding is increasingly important in our globalized and international world.

In addition to providing knowledge and skills for our students in Behavioral and Social Sciences, these fields are also part of the General Education Core of the UMFK curriculum, where they provide a global and diverse perspective into humanity for other programs such as Nursing, Public Safety, Business and Environmental Studies.
