Participant Guidelines

Students presenting a poster or are giving an oral presentation at the Symposium must fill in the Scholars' Symposium Registration Form and return it to their faculty mentor for review. All forms must be submitted no later than April 6, 2022.

  1. Students must complete the online registration form by April 6, 2022.
  2. All submission dates will be strictly adhered to. The symposium committee will not accept any presentations, posters or materials submitted after the specified date.


  1. There can only be one presenter at the time of the symposium. Additional contributor(s) will be recognized in the program.
  2. Each presentation should be in PowerPoint format and uploaded to the appropriate Google Drive (more information coming soon).
  3. Presenters must complete a practice and have a flash drive with the presentation, dates will be shared after registration.
  4. Each session will have a faculty moderator. The faculty moderator will call each speaker to present.
  5. You will be allotted a total of 15 minutes for your presentation: You will have 10 to 12 minutes to present and 3 to 5 minutes to answer questions.


  1. Poster files for printing must be submitted via the Google Drive link found on the symposium website by the preferred date of April 13, 2022.
  2. Students submitting posters after this date must contact their advisor for permission and submit them to the Google drive link above no later than April 20, 2022.
  3. Any student questions on Symposium posters can be directed to Kaisa Holloway Cripps or Sofia Birden.
