The University of Maine and Fort Kent's Blake Library will host “My Maine Photography” exhibit by Amanda Devaney from Friday, July 6 through Friday, August 10.

An opening reception will be held at the UMFK Blake Library Gallery on Friday, July 6 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to meet and greet the artist.

“My Maine Photography” exhibit includes photographs, mostly of flowers, sunsets, and other aspects of nature.

Thirteen-year-old Amanda Devaney loves to take photos. For two years now, she has shown an interest in photography.

Devaney says, “I don't really know why or how I choose the pictures I take. I just take pictures of whatever strikes my eye.” She also adds, “Sometimes getting a good picture is hit or miss.”

Amanda Devaney lives in Fort Kent with her parents Phil and Gail Devaney.

The exhibition may be viewed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information on the exhibit or library hours, contact gallery curator Sofia Birden at 834-7527.
