The curtain will once again rise on the University of Maine at Fort Kent's summer theatre program with a production of Tartuffe by Moliere.
The play will be performed from Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2. The audition date is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Fox Auditorium at UMFK, or by appointment.
Auditions are open to anyone in the community who is interested; no experience necessary, only a desire to try. Male and female performers of all ages, technicians, and production staff are needed.
The play is about a scoundrel named Tartuffe, who pretends to be a model of virtue to gain the trust of a wealthy family, but is really a smooth-talking swindler. Will h is true nature be discovered before he robs the family blind?
“Come work with us as we put a St. John Valley spin on this hilarious theatrical classic,” said Aaron Bernstein, producer.
