		<description>&lt;p&gt;The University of Maine at Fort Kent has achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for its $1.4 million renovation of Powell Hall; a project incorporating many energy-savings components into the 47-year-old former dormitory.The University received credit for 29 of the 34 points it submitted for confirmation with USGBC in attaining LEED certification.  LEED certification is recognized as the standard for measuring a building's sustainability. The achievement of LEED certification is the best way to demonstrate that a building project truly is &amp;quot;green.&amp;quot;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

The doors will open to the public at 12:30 p.m. The event is open to the public. A suggested donation of $5 for adults and ages 12 and under may attend free.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
