OneSearch UPDATE

This is a brief update to let you know the quirks that are in the OneSearch system. We will periodically add updates as either we find new quirks or old quirks get fixed.

• There may be ocassions where you will find an article that says full text is available, and when you go to the next page, it shows a direct link to the full text, but when you click on that link, the next page says there are no results (see exmaple: EXAMPLE.pdf). This issue is being addressed. You can click on the "journal" link to get more information on the full text date coverage. (3/28/2011) edited update (4/14/2011)
• While on campus, you should not be asked for a barcode login. This issue has been fixed. If for some reason you are asked to login, please report to sbirden@maine.edu. (3/17/2011)
• There have been instances where you will have in your results list articles that say there is only citation access, but in reality, if you click on them, you will have full text access. So for now, go ahead and click to see what you get. (2/24/2011)
• Sometimes an article in the results says you have access to full text. However, when you go to the page that links you to the article, you may see a resource that lists campuses that have access to it. If you DON'T see Fort Kent, then you won't have online access to that article. However, you can always interlibrary loan the article by contacting library staff. One more thing. If you see a resource that doesn't list any campuses, you can safely assume you DO have access. (2/24/2011)
