The following information are some things the IT Staff thinks you need to know about Accounts & IDs on the UMFK Campus. These accounts & cards give you access to everything you need to get a great education at UMFK.
On-Campus Account:
This account is important because it allows you to use all the computers in classroom labs, library computer rooms and other clusters located in each dormitory. These accounts are normally automatically created and you are assigned a username and password. You will need to login to a computer and reset the one-time password that you were assigned and setup your password recovery questions. If you do not know what your account information is, please see Nicki Ouellette or Peter Cyr in the IT Office or visit the Library staff.
Once you have done this you can then add money to your account for printing. There is a deposit station setup in the Library. Printing costs are 3 cents per page black & white and 30 cents per page for color.
This account can also be used to download a free copy of the latest version of Symantec Antivirus.
UMS Account:

As a University of Maine System student you have been assigned a UMS student account. This is a very important user account, as all electronic communications are made through the use of this account. It is also the account that will provide online access to the major system-wide services. This account must be activated and kept current while attending the University.
The 3 major services that require a UMS ID are: UMS E-mail, Blackboard, and MaineStreet.
If you have questions or need help with the activation process of your account you can contact the following UMFK Help Desk individuals or visit the Blake Library staff and ask for assistance. If you already have an activation key and are ready to try it yourself please visit the Activation website.
