Starting in 2008, a team of researchers from the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center at the University of Maine conducted an in-depth assessment of the St. John Valley's creative economy in collaboration with the University of Maine at Fort Kent and regional community leaders. The intent of the St. John Valley Creative Economy Project was to identify opportunities, challenges and potential strategies for developing and better leveraging the region's indigenous assets of culture and place for increased prosperity. This report provides a summary of activities, the output of the research, and recommendations and conclusions based on project efforts.
