2014 WAC Mission Statement
To host the 2014 World Acadian Congress in the Acadia of Lands and Forests region by drawing from a commitment and an energetic collaboration of the community and its partners in order to solicit an active participation of Acadians throughout the world who will come here or participate in events via modern means of communications.

What is the World Acadian Congress?

  • A huge celebration comprised of more than 300 activities including family reunions, local celebrations, ceremonies, musical and theatrical productions, conferences, cultural performances and sporting events
  • Held every five years over a two to three week period in August that must include August 15 (Acadian National Feast Day)
  • Draws people from all over the world
